What this actually involves
With no key at all, the key has to be generated from the vehicle's own data rather than duplicated. We retrieve or decode the key code, cut a new blade, and program it to the immobilizer at the vehicle. Because the missing key is unaccounted for, we recommend erasing it from the car in the same visit.
All keys lost is its own discipline
With nothing left to copy, the key is generated from the vehicle's own data: the key code retrieved or decoded from the locks, a blade cut from scratch, and a transponder enrolled with the immobiliser through the diagnostic port. It is the automotive job people are most often told requires the dealership — with the tow, the wait, and the booking that entails. It does not: the entire operation happens at the parked vehicle, and it ends with the engine running.
The lost key gets dealt with too
Somewhere, your old key still exists — dropped in a parking lot, left in a coat, taken. Because it is unaccounted for, we recommend erasing it from the immobiliser in the same visit: whoever holds it is left with a shape in metal that no longer starts anything. This is also why the ownership check on an all-keys-lost job is strict and non-negotiable — the service that can make you a key from nothing is precisely the one that must never do it for someone else's car.
